" Clip Up This Summer "
My dude Polar/Sonny Wong/ Viben Onerz is a god damn beast when it comes to graphics, graff, and comedy.......When we get together the jokes reach all-time high levels..
He has been the creative force behind the cover art for some of my illest projects (Remix Weaponry, Wax Weapons 31, and Strictly Weapons with Culpa One).....Salute my dude....
Peep these new tees that he cooked up for all the hardrocks walking around the avenue with an ice-grill.....If you want to cop one, you can contact him HERE.............
Polar if your reading this- reserve one of these bangers for the kid..HAHA.
" Mixtape Of The Week- Sample Source Edition "
I'm quite sure you have heard plenty sample source mixes throughout the years......Some are corny and it seems as if their only purpose is to pull producers cards, and violate them by exposing their samples....
Others educate the listener and take them on a journey by paying proper homage to the original compositions....
When I first started hearing these types of mixes in the early 90's, it got me open....Now in 2011 a DJ has to dig a little deeper in his crates to hold my attention (Many sample source projects recycle the same material these days) ....
Fake Blood (Yeah, I know the name is puzzling) goes all out on his latest mix, "Used Volume One".......Sure you might hear a couple songs that you heard before, but for the most part he keeps it fresh and unpredictable......Listen to it front to back and get your mind right....

" B-Boy Mania - Circle Traffic Edition "
" Milkcrate Jewels 34 "
It's been awhile since I slapped ya'll with a Milkcrate Jewel, so without further delay here goes another rocket blast straight from the dungeons of my wax laboratory......
Earlier today while flipping through the stacks- I came across a record that I haven't listened to in a minute.....Beat Nuts the "Rarest Nuts" L.P.
I caught this a couple years back and I was surprised it contained unreleased material, B-sides, etc....
One of the commercially unreleased joints that caught my attention was a cut called, "Robbed".....It was probably made during the "Stone Crazy" sessions because it sounds similar to one of my favorite songs from that album "Find That", except with a little more bounce.....
Eerie floating keys, Chuck D vocal sample, explosive drums, and plenty death threats = WIN....

" Down Low Wreckage E .P. "
I'm going to take you all the way to Staten Island for a heavy dose of Hip Hop shock treatment....
Wu-Tang affiliate Dark Skinned Assassin dropped the stellar Down Low Wreckage E.P. in the mid nineties....Ill crime stories, menacing production, and all that other hardcore shit....
After garnering attention for the project he ended up getting incarcerated for three years which slowed down the momentum of his musical efforts.......He now goes by the name Dr. Ama and he released an album entitled "Split Personality" a couple years back.....
Anyway, here is the download for Down Low Wreckage.......Turn the volume up and prepare for rough turbulence..

" Let The Beats Rock "
BEATS, BEATS, AND MORE BEATS......
Are you sick of listening to beat tapes that put you straight to sleep ?
Growing weary of instrumentals that lack the soul power you crave ?
With the steady influx of tinkerbell drums, corny as fuck synth lines, and unoriginal chops many are left scratching their heads wondering, "What the fuck happened?"
Don't trip though trooper, that dude from Philly "Small Professor" has some production that will wake you up.....

" Monday Hip Hop Morale "
While scoping out the Crates Of AG blog, I stumbled onto a fresh remix project by a cat that goes by the name, "Debonair P"......His beats match up with the vocals perfectly, he rocks nice arrangements, and "P" even took the time to add some scratches to assist on the momentum factor...
It's not often that a remix project captures my attention these days, but this joint kept me listening from front to back.....If your looking for some Monday Hip Hop morale, do the right thing JACK !!!!

" Fresh Is The Word, Part 5 "
When I copped a boom box Flud watch a couple years back, I had no idea it would garner so much attention from people (Mainly females).....I didn't get it to be hip, I copped it because I actually thought it was fresh...
It's the first watch I have ever owned as a matter of fact....
Now Flud is back with an Akai MPC sampler type watch that I have to pick up with a quickness......If you want to scoop one one yourself,

" Muro Rocks The Breaks "
It's been awhile since I posted up one of Muro's mixes, so I decided to dig in my bag of goodies and pull out some treats for all of those that check the BATTLEFIELD on the regular....
Muro comes equipped on this break beat explosion ( Super Funky Rock Breaks 1 ).......When it comes to finding raw drum breaks many producers automatically run to the funk/jazz section of the record store....But truth be told I have found plenty open drums on certain rock records that blew my god damn mind.....
If your looking for some Monday beat morale, you just found it trooper....Over an hour of heavy percussion.....DONT SLEEP..

The Wild Style Technicians crew ( Izze, DAZE, Zone, Sake, etc ) have been holding it down in Southern California for over a decade..Instead of following trends, these guys keep their designs straight B-Boy without all the extra nonsense....
They also sponsor the Battlefield Funk radio show and keep us laced all year around with explosive garments....
Check out Izze's blog while your floating around in cyber-space if you want to see ill pieces, flicks, and all that other wild style shit...Make sure you tell him that grimy dude from HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD sent you jack !!!!!

" Battlefield Funk Radio - Download "
* In the above pic- Big Mark, Myself, Chef, and P (Funk What Ya Heard)...
What do you get when you combine HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD with FUNK WHAT YA HEARD ?
Motherfuckin chaos on the turntables.....Mad Planet and I started the radio show in 2009 and rocked on U-Stream for over twenty joints......We didn't have a plan or an agenda, all we wanted to do was have fun on the decks and rock joints that we enjoyed...
No formats, no concepts- just off the dome, extra live mixing sessions....A wise man once told me, "Real live dudes, do real live things".........So we took heed to those words and always kept it unpredictable and spontaneous.....
It's been awhile since we splashed cyber-space with a heavy dose of artillery ( We are both extremely busy these days )....
Don't worry though trooper, we have a show planned real soon so keep your eyes peeled......Until then, check out this MP3 from 1/14/10 of two and a half hours of comedy, blends, doubles, accapella flips, trivia, and all that other fly shit....
I remember this show very well....I just had four wisdom teeth pulled out, could barely talk, and I was dealing with an enormous amount of pain at the time....HAHA...
Anyway, big up to everyone that peeped the shows in the past, we see you......

" The Triumphant Return Of Sucker Of The Week "
WHAT PART OF THE GAME IS THIS ?
A couple years ago I had a "Sucker Of The Week" column on the BATTLEFIELD....I would take the time to pop a blog shot at well deserving targets, and put a spotlight on some of their cornball antics...
It could be a wack lyric, or a straight biter situation.....Or even blatant selling out or any other random act of fuckery that made me blow the whistle and cry foul....
Somewhere along the line I grew bored with the idea and I scrapped the whole shit.....I figured why waste time dissing these herbs, when I could be more constructive by bigging up music that deserves more attention ?
YA HEARD....
Every once in awhile though I spot something that puzzles me to the point where I have to resurrect the "Sucker Of The Week" Modus Operandi......
AWWW MAN, this clip right here is wrong for sooooo many reasons...
If you do not get angry after watching this, you are probably a motherfuckin sucker.........HAHA.
" Tuesday Turbulence On Deck "
Yeah this is more like it.....
Teflon was supposed to drop an album on Premier's label a long time ago.... Now with the CDQ release of "For The Love", hopefully we will see the release of that project sometime in the near future...

" Crate Damage, Part 4 "
* In the above pic Dave Jones & myself, live on the air, June 24th at the beautiful University Of British Columbia.....
On my recent trip to Vancouver, Canada I picked up a nice amount of explosive vinyl......I'm not going to share the open drum breaks with ya'll, but what I will do is hit you off with a couple fresh cuts that will definitely perk your ears up....
Concise - "Fame" featuring DJ Revolution on the cuts....
Double Up Records, Produced by Concise..
Concise usually teams up with Checkmate (Defenders Of The Faith), but he is also known to get busy on the solo tip....His rhymes are on point and he also excels with menacing production on this slept on joint from the early 2000's.......
Revolution absolutely kills it on the cuts and gives this record an extra boost of seasoning..HAHA..
I also have to add that Concise is from Vancouver.....
CHECK IN......
King Sun & D.Moet - "Mythological".....
Zakia Records, Produced by Cutmaster DC 1987..
In Ice T's new book he claims "Mythological" was the inspiration and driving force behind his hit song, "Colors".......If you play close attention to "Mythological", it sounds as if Ice-T straight bit the whole shit....
Not just the cadence and flow, but also the drum programming, arrangements, etc........HAHA......
I'm very surprised I caught this record for a decent price because I heard through the grapevine that it's worth a pretty penny..HAHA.....I guess I was at the right place at the right time, because I copped it for cheap..
Anyway, give it a listen trooper.....
And this last pic is for my homeboy Sha-Onerz......What you know about this shit fam ? HAHA..
