" Scratch Overdose Steez "

God damn, D-Styles is just a fucking maniac when it comes to slicing up the decks......

Instead of resting on his laurels he continues to stay innovative with his scratch patterns....Recently Hip Hop Site unveiled a stashed out promo project that combined D-Styles & DJ Shadow for a session of turntable chaos....

" We teamed up with D-Styles back in the day to create this promo for DJ Shadow’s The Private Press, and later used it for pre-orders of The Outsider. The mix includes exclusive remixes and interpretations by D-Styles, and basically was our answer to Q-Bert’s Shadow mix, The Camel Bobsled Race. Shadow’s new LP, The Less You Know, The Better is due 9/27 "..

Be on the lookout for that City Slick album dropping September 20th....

The leaks that I have heard so far sound solid....Here is a little sneak peak for the BATTLEFIELD posse...

"Hostage"

" Tuesday Rockets "

A month or so ago, I posted up one of Sloppy White's extra ill, under the radar mixes - Now I'm back with another power booster to help raise your Hip Hop morale on this Tuesday evening....

" The Way It Was " is flooded with a massive amount of joints that many of you have never heard before.....Turn the volume up a notch and rock on trooper...

" Vocabulary Spill, Part 3 "

Yeah, I know you do not come to HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD to read about my personal opinions on things, but fuck it this is my blog so I can do whatever I want, when I want...

Every once in awhile I have to hit the decompress button and vent about various situations that are puzzling to me.....So latch on to your seat belts and brace yourself for some BATTLEFIELD turbulence....

1..."LYRICALLY DEFICIENT ROBOTS"

Wow, I can't believe how lame some of these so-called rappers are these days.....I'm talking elementary school bars.......The other night I went out and heard a girl get on the mic and spit bullshit like this, "I'm so California / like a sushi roll".........

And if that wasn't bad enough, she followed up that nonsense with, "I'll burn your ass / like a calorie".......

I got so mad I felt like going down to the nearest grocery store to buy a dozen eggs, then roll back to the jam and pelt her with all twelve of the those joints right in her motherfuckin face.....

We went from "Lyrical Kings" like T-La Rock, G-Rap, Rakim, to cornball rhymers that have no right clutching microphones in front of anyone.........

You suckers better cut out all that foolishness, your embarrassing yourself.....

2...."SWEET AS ALIZE BEATS"

I'm not one of those "throwback brothers" that think everything after 1996 sucks....I'm still a dedicated Hip Hop student and I dig extremely hard to hear fresh material on the regular (past and present).....

With that being said though, I have to admit that most of the production I hear lately has been soft as shit.....Back in the day we were trying to get away from sappy R-N-B tracks.....

I never embraced "New Jack Swing" or any of that other watered down fluff...

When you rhyme that gangster shit over candy beats, it doesn't add up......When you rhyme that revolution talk over happy beats, it doesn't add up......When you you rhyme that crime boss steez over tinkerbell beats, it doesn't add up....

Timeless Hip Hop is created when you have a perfect marriage between top notch lyrics, over top notch production.....

Some of you producers need to sell your god damn samplers.....Better yet, donate them joints to cats that have a real understanding of what Hip Hop production is all about......

I'm sick and tired of hearing your soft ass beats....

3...."SMART DUMMIES"..

Remember when Hip Hop dudes took pride in reading books ?

You have to turn off your computer sometimes and go to your nearest bookstore, library, and immerse yourself into some quality reading material.....

The downside to certain technology "advancements" is that our attention spans are getting fried out....Everyone is looking for a short cut, instead of putting in the proper work...

With the closing of "Borders" it appears as if e-books are the future for some.......Nah, I'm going to continue buying books as much as I buy records.....

4..."WACK RAP NAMES"

"Black Spade", "Black Jigg", "V-Nasty", "White Girl Mobb", "Zeek Lotto", "Juicy-J", "Young Breed", "Young Guru", "French Montana", "Torch", and too many other ones to even deal with on this post...

5...."Hip Hop Jeopardy"..

Contrary to popular belief, having a deep knowledge of Hip Hop history is essential if you ever want to be considered a serious Hip Hop head....

If you are one of those cats that scream "West Coast, West Coast", and you don't even know who "Toddy T" or who "Uncle Jams Army" are - you need to get your motherfuckin mind right.....

If you are one of those cats that scream "Miami, Miami", and you don't know about the "Ghetto Style D.J.'s" or "Gucci Crew" - you need to get your motherfuckin mind right...

If you are one of those cats that scream "Brooklyn, Brooklyn", and you don't know about "Audio 2" or "Hitman Howie T" - you need to get your motherfuckin mind right....FAST.......

I'm not one to pat myself on the back, but I can promise you that you "do not want it" with Mr. Hip hop Battlefield when it comes to that Hip Hop Jeopardy shit......HAHAHA....

That's it for now, I think I have ranted on long enough....

" Break Your Face "

Before I even get started, I want to send a big shout to Babz from the Alter Ha Crew in Boston for pointing me in the direction of this mix...

Lean Rock & B.Ryan launch off a barrage of high frequency breaks on their latest project, "Ingredients Of Flava".....I'm only a quarter ways into it and let's just say, shit is ridiculous.....These aren't your average sleep inducing breaks, I'm talking about under the radar drums for your domepiece trooper......DO NOT SLEEP..

Ingredientz of Flava (Official Mix) by Dj Lean Rock

" 95 Live "

"He know we gun sling, he know a nigga down with the dream team / he hate to see a nigga getting cream".

Back in 1995 Gunslingas dropped an album entitled, "We All We Got".........That title reminds me of New Jack City for some reason HAHAHA....

Anyway the album is packed with death threats, crime stories, stick ups, etc.......Here a couple of my top picks.

"Dirty Mack For Life"

"Killas Is Coming"

" New Shit On Deck "

I'm really digging this new hot rock from the man who helped introduce the world to that one guy, Sean Carter HAHAHA.....

Jaz-O returns with some ammo on "From The Projects", my only complaint is that Defenders Of the Faith and Minnesota rocked the same exact sample recently (I know most people could give a fuck less about that type of shit, but it still matters to me famz).

Regardless, give it a listen and get your mind right.....

(Bottom piece rocked by my dude Shucks One out in London)

" Weekend Flavors "

El Rob & Mondo (Cash Dreed) are back with some more flavors for your Sunday shenanigans....."Cash Still Rules" runs twelve songs deep with an assortment of styles and concepts...

Big up to the whole 916......

" Mad Face Invasion "

Awww man this DJ shit is out of control these days....

I have witnessed so-called DJ's stand behind the decks with goofy sunglasses on, a cornball scarf to match, with a mean mug scowl on their faces and no skills whatsoever........They might dress the part, they might even talk the part, but when it comes down to it they didn't spend enough time doing their homework to be classified a DJ in my opinion....

I'm not even as critical as you might think : Give me a couple blends, original selections, and create some type of vibe, that's all that I ask for.....

Of course I prefer to hear a set that includes doubles, scratches, and a beat juggle or two, but if you give me the bare essentials I will give you a pass.....HAHA...

The problem is that some of these DJ's don't even have the elementary stage of spinning under wraps....

Are you sick and tired of these so-called celebrity DJ's getting gigs when they don't know what the fuck they are doing ? Growing weary of hearing wack selections, trainwrecks, and all that other bozo shit ?

Angry DJ. Com is the spot for you homeboy......

Shout out to my famz Sha Onerz for the lookout...
