Akbar went on to release a couple singles and a poorly marketed album on Ill Boogie Records...Solid material, but I don't think it captured his full potential..Don't get it twisted though cousin - Akbar is still clutching mic's and doing his thing in the new millennium...

"DJShadow.com are very excited to announce a major new archival release exposing Shadow’s early production on the Akai MPC. Containing entirely unreleased material spanning from 1992 to 1996, the project is entitled, “Total Breakdown: Hidden Transmissions From The MPC Era, 1992-1996.” Included among the highlights are instrumental tracks from an aborted 1994 EP planned with The Gift Of Gab, which includes the original demo of what would eventually become “Six Days.”



The new collection of “MPC Era” tracks follows on from the much-loved “4-Track Era” releases from 2008 and 2009, and establishes a pattern which should be familiar to Shadow fans. “I like to follow up new material (such as the recent ‘The Less You Know, The Better’ LP) with a tastefully-done archival project,” Shadow explains. “As long as the old stuff is given a context and doesn’t overshadow the new, I think it’s a healthy exercise for me, and one that re-calibrates me for whatever new musical path lies ahead. I think it’s important to revisit where you’ve been occasionally so that you can determine where to go.”

Salaam Remi had a short-lived record label called Norfside.....Out of all the groups he put out, "Major Stress" showed the most potential in my opinion......They released a couple singles, and eventually put out a poorly distributed album in 1997 called "Up Against The Wall"......

Good stuff.......Plenty death threats, boulevard bully rhymes, stick up kid narratives, and very raw production supplied by Mr. Remi......

"X-Ray da Mindbenda has returned with a series of dope Beats and Skits appropriately tittled "The Ear Hustler" to be released worldwide on Mindbenda/Ioda/Sony on Nov 17th 2009.

Known for his dark and cinamatic beat scapes on project's with MF Doom, Monsta Island Czars and Darc Mind. X-Ray's music on the documentary feature Flim "On the Ropes" has won him a Sundance Flim Festival Award and was nominated for a Oscar in 1999.

His music is also featured on the "Soul in the Hole" Soundtrack (Loud Records). With his group Darc Mind "The Ear Hustler" is the first Solo Instrumental album entirely produced by X-Ray ".....
