Beats, Songs & Rhymes Vol.2 - Large Pro by Dope As Funk Mix Series

" Drasar Monumental Wrecks The Remix-Repost "

*Originally posted 10/21/10

O.K. folks it's about that time again.......

You know what I'm talking about.....Another remix rocket from the captain of this Battlefield battleship homeboy.....I decided to give ya'll a healthy dose of bass, snapping drums, and that extra special spice that is bound to raise your blood pressure levels...

The original version of Out The Box (produced by Pete Rock)-featured Tony Touch, Large Pro, Masta Ace, and P.R. on the vocals...

So turn your speakers to level ten, take a deep breath, and brace yourself for collision.....POW,POW....

All beats wrecked, sliced, flipped, mangled, chopped, manhandled, and stretched out by ME !!!!!!!!!

" The B-Side Wins Again "

The "Every Posse Get Flat" project I have been working on is just about finished....I know that I promised to put it out last month, but I never release a meal from my kitchen until I feel it is properly spiced up.....Don't trip though peoples, you will get it next Friday..

When you hear this shit it's bound to make dudes regroup and reorganize their whole outlook on things.....SERIOUSLY....If you are still checking for that certified hardcore shit, keep your motherfucking eyes peeled because " Every Posse Get Flat " is loaded with heavy ammunition....BLAM..

" Break Your Face "

Before I even get started, I want to send a big shout to Babz from the Alter Ha Crew in Boston for pointing me in the direction of this mix...

Lean Rock & B.Ryan launch off a barrage of high frequency breaks on their latest project, "Ingredients Of Flava".....I'm only a quarter ways into it and let's just say, shit is ridiculous.....These aren't your average sleep inducing breaks, I'm talking about under the radar drums for your domepiece trooper......DO NOT SLEEP..

Ingredientz of Flava (Official Mix) by Dj Lean Rock

" 95 Live "

"He know we gun sling, he know a nigga down with the dream team / he hate to see a nigga getting cream".

Back in 1995 Gunslingas dropped an album entitled, "We All We Got".........That title reminds me of New Jack City for some reason HAHAHA....

Anyway the album is packed with death threats, crime stories, stick ups, etc.......Here a couple of my top picks.

"Dirty Mack For Life"

"Killas Is Coming"

" New Shit On Deck "

I'm really digging this new hot rock from the man who helped introduce the world to that one guy, Sean Carter HAHAHA.....

Jaz-O returns with some ammo on "From The Projects", my only complaint is that Defenders Of the Faith and Minnesota rocked the same exact sample recently (I know most people could give a fuck less about that type of shit, but it still matters to me famz).

Regardless, give it a listen and get your mind right.....

(Bottom piece rocked by my dude Shucks One out in London)

" Weekend Flavors "

El Rob & Mondo (Cash Dreed) are back with some more flavors for your Sunday shenanigans....."Cash Still Rules" runs twelve songs deep with an assortment of styles and concepts...

Big up to the whole 916......

" Mad Face Invasion "

Awww man this DJ shit is out of control these days....

I have witnessed so-called DJ's stand behind the decks with goofy sunglasses on, a cornball scarf to match, with a mean mug scowl on their faces and no skills whatsoever........They might dress the part, they might even talk the part, but when it comes down to it they didn't spend enough time doing their homework to be classified a DJ in my opinion....

I'm not even as critical as you might think : Give me a couple blends, original selections, and create some type of vibe, that's all that I ask for.....

Of course I prefer to hear a set that includes doubles, scratches, and a beat juggle or two, but if you give me the bare essentials I will give you a pass.....HAHA...

The problem is that some of these DJ's don't even have the elementary stage of spinning under wraps....

Are you sick and tired of these so-called celebrity DJ's getting gigs when they don't know what the fuck they are doing ? Growing weary of hearing wack selections, trainwrecks, and all that other bozo shit ?

Angry DJ. Com is the spot for you homeboy......

Shout out to my famz Sha Onerz for the lookout...

" 4 All My Wu- Headz, Part 7 "

One of the accomplishments that many people overlook when talking about the RZA, is that not only did the abbot help "PUT ON" his fellow clansmen, he also had a hand in assisting the launch of a million splinter groups....

Sunz of Man, Grave Diggaz, Killarmy, Black Knights, Royal Fam, Brooklyn Zoo, GP Wu, Shyheim, and I'm quite sure it would take hours to include the rest...

The Wu- Syndicate (Myalansky, Joe Mafia, Napoleon, etc) hail from Virginia and released their self titled debut in 1999....One of the stand out cuts from that album is "Where Was Heaven" an autobiographical, heartfelt snapshot of the struggle.....

LISTEN UP...

I'm not sure what the current status is of the group, but they came out with a second album "Gremlenz" 2009, Myalansky dropped "Drastic Measures" in 2008, Joe Mafia released "This One" in 2002, and Napoleon just released a new mixtape (Best of Napoleon)....

Out of all the joints on that project, "Money, Cars, Clothes" caught my attention the most...

YOU KNOW THE MOTHERFUCKING DRILL......

" New Shit On Deck "

If you send me an e-mail you better believe I read that shit....It might take me a couple days to finally get around to it, but I try to take the time to sift through my endless amounts of e-mails when time permits.....

ZJUDAH @ YAHOO.COM is the address if you want to send me demos, half-way interesting articles, secret society breaks, and all that other shit.....One of HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD'S regular readers (Donalski) hipped me to this cat from Virginia that goes by the name, "Steady Fam".....

Give it a listen ya'll and tell me what you think ?

" 100 BPM Mix Flavors "

I'm going to speed up the tempo a little bit and send you guys into a trance.......DJ Wicked ( Wicked Takeover, Stanford KZSU ) put together the excellent Buckwild and SF comprehensive mixes, and now he is going to stick to a theme once again and blend joints that clock in at the 100 BPM range....

Take a look at the playlist homeboy, yeah this is fully packed with heat.....

After checking out DJ Bles's set up in Seattle for Might 4 a couple year back, I knew he was a forced to be reckoned with....Instead of wasting time behind the decks he set it off with a barrage of intense drums, nice composition, and well placed quick scratches...

On this breaks mix from 2010 (Soulwalking) he keeps it extra fresh...Seriously..

While diggin through the stacks I came across a record that I haven't listened to in mad long.......Baby J featuring the A-Alikes "Walk With A Bop".....This song brings back memories for me because I used to rock it nonstop....

Ill keys chopped up, a haunting voice floating over the track, and aggressive bars = WIN........
