" Burn Your Face Off , Killa Kebz Version"

Last weekend I ran into a friend of mine that I haven't seen in years, my dude Big Kebz (ICP/GM5)......

When it comes to Graff, he is a straight up monster.....Instead of running his mouth, and flapping his lips like he has something to prove, he let's his artwork speak for itself....

That's why I give him his proper respect........Big up to you Kebz-Oner for inspiring me to stick to my GUNZ, and putting me up on crazy break beat tapes when these clowns didn't even have a fucking clue.....

SALUTE.....

*Click on pics for further inspection, and prepare to have your beard sizzled off........FLAMES......

" O.S.T. Madness Mixtape "

Here is a little diggers secret for all you beat nerds out there.....

If you are looking to sprinkle a little drama on your beats, the best place to look would be an O.S.T.........Movie soundtracks usually contain the whole spectrum of human emotion, to match up with the visuals of that particular motion picture...

Over the years I have made some crazy beats from these often overlooked, sources of musical mayhem.....Peep this mix by Ian Head that only rocks soundtracks.....

" Good soundtracks create great atmosphere and feeling, and help tell the story or embellish a character or situation. Hopefully these selections give off some of that, whether or not you recognize them or know the movie they're attached to.

As a bonus, I did a short second mix of some of my favorite movie-associated hip-hop records. Nothing super rare on there, just classic joints I still love to play today.

No tracklisting this month. Quincy Jones is a genius, go check out his catalogue."

" More Loops For The Troops "

I'm the type of cat that could listen to the same loop all day (If it's fresh enough)......

Most people have a short attention span, making it hard for them to appreciate the fine art of sonic repetition.....I came across an interesting body of straight loops on the "Strictly Beats " blog, by these dudes that call themselves "Rednose District".....

Dope....Take a listen ..

" S.F. Wreck "

When dudes try to run up on me with that ,"Hip Hop Is Dead" talk, I just shake my head in disbelief......ARE YOU SERIOUS ?

Instead of complaining while watching MTV Jams, go out and seek Hip Hop shit......Believe me, Hip Hop is alive and well, you just can't expect it to fall in your lap......Some cats are just straight up lazy, or they refuse to support because they view everyone as competition...

Even though I rhyme, make beats, and manhandle the turntables- I'm still a fan of this shit and I try to support certain functions when I get the chance...

This past weekend I ventured out to the "Classic" graff sessions in S.F.

WOW- dudes are not playing in 2010 & if you are not on your "A-Game", you will get swept under the rug real quick !!!!!!!!!

* Me & the crew cold lamping with the Lee jackets on full blast mode....

Salute to my dudes who always GET BIZ: State, Planet, Refa, Kufu, Sha, Manny, S.F. Zulus, Kebz (Good to see you bro), Wavez, Spec, TMC, Cray-One, Big Mark, Fooderz, Bas-One (Killing em son), and every artist that contributed.....

Here are a couple flicks for your viewing pleasure......

Peace-
D

" Herbie Hancock Interview "

So I guess the brand new Hip Hop week is officially over....

No need for alarm though troop- Hip Hop Battlefield covers Hip Hop past, present, and future, so expect to see some new joints sprinkled in throughout the week....

Red Bull Music Academy recently sat down to chat with Mr. Herbie Hancock....

DON'T SLEEP..

" Learn about Herbie Hancock through this career retrospective interview as he speaks on his origins of music from childhood which instilled his drive to pursue a career as a musician under the early influence of Miles Davis, one of his biggest inspirations."

" Funk What Ya Heard On The Mix "

Yesterday my homeboy from FUNKWHATYAHEARD (Planet), decided to hop on the decks and record a quick one track mix....No plan, no mistakes allowed, and definitely no nonsense....

He didn't give me a playlist, but you already know how he gets down so don't trip......Newness, under the radar rockets, and even a little rude-boy shit gets thrown in the mix.....

So quit stalling and do the right thing JACK !!!!

" Under The Radar Rockets: Guru Edition, Part 2 "

Before I even get started I have to say R.I.P. to Guru.......The world seems like a different place ever since he passed away....Sure there were plenty benefit shows and all that, but it seems as if us fans are left waiting patiently to hear more music from the vaults.

Earlier this year D.J. Lord Ron (UZN) put out this cut ,"Propaganda" with Guru on the vocals.....LISTEN UP...

And while your at it-go peep "LR's" newest offering, the "Enviromental Shape Sounds of Lord Ron".......It's packed with plenty head nodders...

" For All The Wu- Headz, Part 10 "

Wu Tang Swordsmen, "Masta Killa" has a new album dropping in October of 2010....This song "Noodles Part 2" should hold you over until that comes out...

I also have to mention that "M.K." is behind the boards for this one.....Enjoy..

" Hell Razah & R.A. The Rugged Man "

Whenever Hell Razah & R.A. link up, the results are usually on-point......And this new cut ," Return Of The Renaissance" adds to the duo's increasing catalogue of dope material....

Be on the lookout for Hell Razah's new album in the near future on Nature Sounds......BLAM..

" 2010 Kool G.Rap Shots "

The all new Hip Hop week keeps rolling along here on HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD......It's only Tuesday and things are getting extra steamy on this side of things.....

Stay tuned all week, I have a couple surprises up my sleeve....

Just to keep you on your 2010 toes- here is your chance to hear some G.Rap newness...

"Sad"- Produced by Super Dave...

" On My Classic Shit "

This weekend me and the posse are headed to this monster event....Damn, I can't believe how many heavy-hitters will be in the motherfuckin house....

Let me blast a couple names off for ya: Crayone, Estria, Vouge, Nate1, Jim Prigoff, Spie, Twick, Dizney, Ink, Neon, Kasper, KayTwo, Sno, King 157, Cuba, Fury, and many more....

If your in the Bay area-you know what time it is famz........See ya there..

" Mega Montana Mixtape "

Yeah, I know this week is supposed to be all new music week.....This mixtape dropped this year, so can I get a pass ?....

Anyway, D.J. Mystery & Y.G.C. bless us with a compilation of Cormega cuts- past, present, and future....I was very surprised to see that he recorded a song with motherfuckin Lil Wayne ?

Other than that Mega definitely does his thing....Props to DGI....

" For All The Wu- Headz, Part 9 "

Check out this video from Wu-affiliate "Dom Pachino".....Good to hear him speaking with some substance on the track.....

TUNE IN...(Righteous Seed)

" Q-Unique Newness "

In this day in age, most cats don't even really listen to albums....They might skim over a couple tracks real quick, but most people don't give an album the proper shelf life anymore....

I can remember a time when a sure shot single, would get burn for years before the song was labeled passe.....With that being said, "Q-Unique's" album deserves a thorough listen......He even stepped up to the plate with his production, and contributed the best beats on the album.......

On this cut entitled "Mr.Lopez" -produced by Q, the song is broken down into three parts...What more do you guys want ?.....He made the beat, told a ill crime story, and even drops a few jewels for all you fake hardrocks out there.....Two thumbs up....

"Mr.Lopez".....

" All New Hip Hop Week "

Nothing but brand new Hip Hop on the BATTLEFIELD this week ya'll.....

If it wasn't released in 2010, it's going to be put on hold for the next seven days....WHY ?.....Because I feel like it..Nothing more, nothing less....So enough of the rambling, let's get into this..

In 1995, I wise man once told me, " Yo, you can NEVER front on K.R.S.-One son "........And to this day I fully believe in that sentiment.....Don't get it twisted: I would love for him to rock over better beats (Doesn't everyone), but if you go back and listen to all the albums he has put out- there are jewels on each and every one of them......

Salute to the blastmaster for holding down the fort for over 20 years.....If you haven't seen K.R.S.-One live, you need to do that at least once in your lifetime....Or you are SLIPPING !!!!!

"Who Da Best"- produced by JS-1...................You can't even try to tell me that this is not fresh.....I wish he would rock over this type of production more often...

And his new album with Tru-Master (Meta-Historical) has a couple heatrocks as well..........Go find out for yourself...

" Hip Hop Battlefield Remix Series "

All right folks, fasten your combat helmets and brace yourself for some remix shock treatment....

When it comes to making beats, I approach it from a D.J. standpoint..I'm a D.J. first and a beatmaker second...Matter of fact-the only reason why I make beats is because I analyzed so many records over the years, that I felt production was a natural progression..

So listen to this new batch of chaos from the Hip Hop Battlefield torture chambers.....All samples, all abrasive, all gully...

Grand Daddy I.U.---- "Slanging Bass"

" Drasar Monumental Remix Action-Repost "

Every time I play this remix for my peoples, I get the response that I am looking for...Usually they start panicking and their eyes look like they are about to explode, as the tension levels get higher and higher....HAAAHAAHA...

That was all by design.....I posted this up earlier this year, and I feel this remix rocket deserves another launch off !!!!!

Here is the original post.....ENJOY..

Alright folks, it's time for me to pull out the crazy flame thrower remix shit to melt your ear drums off !!!!!!

Since I was away from my sampler for a couple weeks- I decided that today I had to go in the lab and construct some aggressive, UFC, type heat...And who sounds more aggressive than the MASH OUT POSSE ?

You know how I do on the remix tip....NO corny synths, NO hollow sounding drums, and definitely NO half-stepping....If your looking for some angry frequencies to boost your Hip Hop morale, you just found your theme music...

" Boom, Boom Boom, there you go bastard / murder international, custom made caskets ".......

"Pounds Up"- Drasar Monumental Remix

" Get Off The Bozack, Part 2 "

Yesterday I came across a site that tried to rock Hip Hop Battlefield as their name.....Only one problem, I have been up and running for almost three years, and it seems as if they just got started- so I know they straight bit my shit...

So if you google Hip Hop Battlefield, my spot will pop up and right under me you will notice these other dudes site.....It seems as if they are on some type of Crumping, Jerking, cornball type of steez.....They even use lame words like swaggerville, and dance crews..

HAHAHAHA.......

If they are doing things for the Las Vegas youth, and enriching the community with their so-called battles- more power to them..But biting is not allowed in any capacity in my opinion......Needless to say that I am a little puzzled by their moves, now I can never move from a blogspot to a .com because they basically housed my shit (Even though I never planned on doing such a thing)....

I'm not mad.....I'm just puzzled at this whole scenario........Regardless, I am the DON of this Hip Hop Battlefield ship kid......

Enough of my rambling, let me get to the goodies by "Constant Deviants"---Problem Child...

" Friday Meditations: Roy Ayers Mix "

I'm going to be honest, I didn't have the chance to sit down and fully digest this mix quite yet.....Most of the time I will not post something up until it passes the HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD seal of approval, but I will make an exception today because the tracklisting looks insane....

Roy Ayers is a certified musical genius that has put in a tremendous amount of work over the years.......That alone should prompt you to investigate this mix to analyze his compositions.....

Enjoy......Peace to Blackout..
