" Salute To Big Pun "

The first time I heard " Big Pun " was on that Funk Master Flex volume one mixtape.....I couldn't believe what the fuck I was hearing straight up and down...

He had the " Kool G.Rap " multi-syllable attack down pat, but he threw a different type of twist on it unlike the majority of "G-
Rap " clones out there...And when " I'm Not A Player " dropped (produced by Money Boss Player- Minnesota) I was convinced that Pun was going to shake things up...

Unfortunately " Pun " never had the chance to watch his career blossom into the legendary status that it is today...Can you imagine how fucking ill he would sound in 2010....WOW...

It's been ten years since " Pun " passed and it would be impossible to fill the void he left...

Christopher Rios you are missed..

Here is a clip of Pun's first ever radio appearance on the " Stretch & Bobbito's " show August 31st, 1995...God damn this is just ridiculous ya'll....Pun really blacks out on this one....

This what Bobbito had to say about this particular recording.....

"In ‘95, Fat Joe brought up Armeggedon, Keith Nut, and Big Dog The Punisher to freestyle on me and Stretch’s show. After the session, I thought in my head, “That dude Big Dog killed it!” That was the first time anyone ever heard him live, and perhaps the first time anyone ever heard of him period as he was unsigned and had never appeared on any of Fat Joe’s records yet. Two years later he was on Loud Records with a big hit “Not A Player” and went multi-plat, etc. Cool story and good memory. He had a very tough image to the public, but around me, Stretch, and Sear, who are all clowns, Pun was a bug out, liked to snap and joke around just like anyone else."

Peace to DW...

On this mix ( Soul Walk ) " Bles " straight wrecks shit....This isn't your average break mix with run of the mill joints you have heard a million times JACK !!!!!

Salute to all my peoples in the 206....

PPPPPREMIERPPPPPPREMIER- Is still smashing the set in 2010...On this new cut with Joell Ortiz ( Project Boy ) " Preem " goes in for the kill with some truly dramatic production...

These are the type of beats that give me an immediate ice grill....

I have never really checked for the kid Ortiz...I'm not going to even front, he never grabbed my attention from the joints I heard him on...If he rocks on beats like these in the future, it will force me to stay on alert...

THIS IS THAT SHIT...

" True Life Stories: Flavor Flav Edition-Re-Up "

It's 1994 and I am high as a kite on some stress weed and a warm St.Ides 40 oz.......Tonight Public Enemy, The Fugees, and The Goats [remember those dudes} are performing...........Me and my crew are broke, pockets are looking shabby as fuck, but here we are........Were chillin in the club parking lot and out comes "Wyclef". I'm not really a " Fugees " fan, matter of fact we were there to see if we could see " P.E."........

" Clef " hits us up for some trees to blaze, we smoke, we crack jokes, and we end up starting a cypher right there............No Lie.........We hit Wyclef with our most brutal rhymes, punchlines, battle darts, multi syllable shit, the works.......Wyclef is stunned, Wyclef is caught off guard, Wyclef just got took out ya'll.........

Anyway he is so impressed he let's us in the show for free.................

The Fugees take a break during their set and invite mc's up to the stage.......We bumrush the stage.......A couple kids try to rhyme, they wack.......I hop up there, tell the band to stop.....I wanna flip this shit acapella.........

"Mayday,mayday,/ I lay more bodies to rest than Richard Ramirez in his heyday...."Don't even bother, to step to this saga/ or you'll end up like Michael Jordans father" OUCH....

The packed crowd is going crazy...I'm really rocking this shit....Lauryn is watching me, she's bobbing her head...I'm killing it.............Next thing you know Flavor Flav is on stage, in my face, yelling at the top of his lungs......"Fuck you, I know Michael Jordan, ya'll niggers are over"........He is in my face, the crowd is screaming, I want to knock Flavor Flav the fuck out, I was a teenager at the time, and he was probably in his late 30's- early 40's but I still wanted to put him in a yoke..

I love P.E., they are one of my favorite groups, but I gotta knock Flav the fuck out {Imagine that}.....I look past Flav's shoulder and I spot the S1W 's {Deep}...........I am not knockin anyone out, time to part this crowd like the red sea, and get the hell outta here........................Flavor Flav sonned me, and 16 years later I kinda regret not beating him down....TRUE STORY..

" Live As It Gets: Featuring Del The Funky Homosapien "

Truth be told, " Del " deserves more shines for his contribution to this thing we call Hip Hop...I wasn't really feeling that "Gorillaz" shit, or that "Deltron" project with the Automator all that much, but he has plenty other releases that I give the thumbs up..

I Wish My Brother George Was Here, Future Development, Catch A Bad One, and some of his newer work properly showcase his off-kilter approach to crafting songs ....He is a true original....Who and the fuck sounds like " Del " ?..

Exactly.....No one...And contrary to popular belief, originality will always prevail over your average copy-cat type of M.C.'s...( I will write more about that in my book, stay tuned HAHAH )...

Anyway, here is a live performance by "D" back in 2002...Over an hour of Hiero goodies..

* My favorite quote-----"Give it up for Jam Master J, if ya'll don't give it up for Jam Master Jay I'm walking off this fucking stage right now".......

I hear ya my brother !!!!!!!!!!!!!

" Who Gives A Fuck About A God Damn Grammy ? "

Remember those infamous words from " Flavor Flav ? " ( Terminator X On The Edge Of Panic )....I do god damn it, and over twenty years later I believe in those words more than ever...

Fuck the Grammy's !!!!!! Hip Hop was designed to go against the grain, nowadays cats are running to the mainstream for any type of hand-out they can get...

These are the nominees for best rap song...( What a fucking joke ).

Best Rap Song
Drake – “Best I Ever Had”
Kid Cudi – “Day ‘N’ Nite”
T.I. & Justin Timberlake – “Dead And Gone”
Jay-Z – “D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)”
Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West – “Run This Town”

Don't get it twisted....I didn't expect the Grammy nominations to be on point in the first place, that would be ridiculous...I'm just disappointed that the bar has gone down so low......Justin Timberlake is involved in a rap nomination for christ sake...

WOW....Jay-Z nominated twice for two horrible songs....WOW....What the fuck happened to Jay-Z ?..... WOW..

I can still remember the days when Hip Hop got absolutely no love at the Grammy's....Public Enemy, Fresh Prince, M.C. Lyte, etc
actually boycotted that shit in the late 80's....They had the right idea....

WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT A GOD DAMN GRAMMY ?

* UPDATE-----Damn I turned to the Grammy's just to see how they started the show....HHHMMMM, just like I thought, some more weirdo behavior...They opened up with Lady GaGa & Elton John....HAHAHAHA......

Time to turn on my sampler and get grimey....

" Mayor's Top 50 AF1's "

Even though I kinda fell back from feeding my AF1 fetish a couple years ago, I'm seriously thinking of doing my own top 50...So make sure you stay on the lookout for that...

This list by the " Mayor " will definitely surprise many of you, especially his number one pick...

Mayor, who has just under 1200 pairs of crispy Air Force 1s, has made a name for himself as a major player in the sneaker game and even has his own sneaker Ustream show on Thursday and Sunday nights. In Mayor's top 50 you'll find a bunch of highly sought after Air Forces and special make-ups that even veteran sneakerheads might have missed. But which models made the cut? Check out the countdown to see Mayor's favorite fifty...

" Wheedle's Groove Movie Trailer "

Seattle has a rich musical history....I'm not talking about that grunge shit that your moms was blasting in the early 90's....Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and Jimi Hendrix all started their illustrious careers in this north western city...

" Light In The Attic Records " & crate digging extraordinaire " Mr.Supreme ", have spent several years unearthing funk & soul gems from this region that remained largely under the radar...

Recently the original artist that created some of this timeless music have reunited to record, perform, and get the props that they rightfully deserve ...

Ladies and gentlemen, here is the trailer for "Wheedle's Groove"...Two thumbs up !!!!!!!!

* Favorite quote- " Good music is alive forever "......( True indeed, my brother )

" New Pep Lover Shit "

A couple years ago I ran into under rated rhyme slinger " Pep Love " at a world famous record store in San Francisco...We chopped it up for a minute, cracked a couple jokes, etc....

I noticed he was carrying a bunch of jazz records in his hands." What's up with the Jazz records Pep, you chopping beats these days ", I asked with a slight chuckle.....He replied, " Oh yeah, I have been for a minute now "....

On this new cut ( No Doubt ) Pep brings his production chops to the table....

" Diamond D Rocks The Breaks "

Everybody knows " Diamond D " is no slouch when it comes to those beats....It should come as no surprise that he does his thing on the wheels of steel as well...

You can listen to " D " rock the breaks on Swift F.M....

TUNE IN..

" R.I.P. Apache "

I'm really getting tired of putting up these R.I.P. post...It seems like every month another musical icon is passing...It seems like every month someone from the Hip Hop nation is traveling to the other side...AAAAHHHHHHHHH

Earlier today one-time " Flavor Unit " member, " Apache " passed away...Not quite sure of the details surrounding his death and I'm not quite sure if I want to know...

Just yesterday ( Real Talk ) I was listening to " You Must Be Out Of Your Fuckin Mind " in the gym....CRAZY...My condolences go out to his friends, family, etc...

TUNE IN 9 O'OCLOCK SHARP HOMEBOY...

" Drasar Monumental Destroys The Remix: Re-Post "

Even though this is a re-post don't think for a hot second that I am running out of dangerous beats.....The only reason why I am reposting this remix of Royal Flush ( Wordwide ) is because it seems to get a good response whenever I play it for one of my peoples...

I have been making beats for half of my life..Sometimes things come together, and sometimes they don't....With this remix right here, I knew I had a heavy piece of weaponry on my hands ....

The original version by " L.E.S. " is a certified classic in my opinion and damn near impossible to top, but I feel my version deserves some burn as well...

So quit stalling homeboy...Swoop up this remix and prepare for impact..

All beats destroyed, mangled, sliced, wrestled, and deconstructed by ME !!!!!

" Tony Toca Presents: Best Of 09 "

Rarely do I post up something without listening to it first...Shhhhiiiiiiit, in this day in age even the most trusted Hip Hop brand can flip the script on you....( YA HEARD ME )...

But if Tony Touch is going to put out a best of 09 " power-cipher " type joint, I have faith....Don't get me wrong I know for a fact that a couple of these cats are going to embarrass themselves on the mic ( More than a couple actually )...Regardless, the majority of this should be entertaining..

I will let you know what I think after fully listening to it...My fingers are crossed..
