" Hip Hop Battlefield Remix Series "

I'm not one of those dudes that submits beats to cats all the time...Sure I would love it if someone like Kool G.Rap slaughtered one of my joints, but I don't like to bother motherfuckers and here is a couple reasons why....

1..Everybody and their mother thinks they can make beats....

2..Not many people are willing to crack open their wallets and actually pay you a half-way decent amount of money....

3..Why would I send you beats if I can rhyme better on that shit myself ?

YA FEEL ME ?

Recently I decided to go against my usual pattern and actually submit some beats........I'm not going to reveal who the artist is, but I will say that he is a heavy hitter when it comes to that hardcore shit....

My beats passed the test with flying colors, and it looks like some real ill shit is on the horizon.....

I'm really excited about this situation....I will unveil who the artist is in a few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled....

In the meantime, here is a little remix action for you- Beat Nuts "Do You Believe"...You know how I get down on the production steez: Ugly undertones, machete chops, and a healthy amount of bass waves......

POW,POW.....

" New Group Home Shit "

It's good to hear that Nutcracker & Lil Dap are back in the lab cooking up music again...On their new album "Guru", they definitely have some highlights.....

On this cut right here "Pay Attention" featuring Smiley The Ghetto Child & Guru- the drama levels reach an all-time high....

CHECK IN..

" Hell Razah: Heaven Razah "

Wu- Affiliate "Hell Razah", has built up a solid catalogue of material ever since he embarked on a solo career after leaving Sunz Of Man....

"When All Hell Breaks Loose" (2001), "Freedom Of Speech" (2004), "Renaissance Child" (2007), "Razah's Ladder" (2007), "Ultra Sounds" (2008), and his newest offering, "Heaven Razah" (2010)..........Not to mention his collabo albums with "Shabbazz",etc...

He is currently recovering from a brain aneurysm.....All proceeds from "Heaven Razah" are going to his family, so do the right thing and go out and pick up a copy troop......

" Buckwild 2010 "

Hip Hop Dx is on fire right now with the interviews , if you haven't noticed..

Recently they caught up with Celph Titled and "Buckwild" while they prepared for the release of their upcoming album,"Nineteen Ninety Now".......

I'm not the biggest fan of Celph, but I have a funny feeling that with "Buck" on the production, they are going to bring some heavy spices to the table....

TUNE IN

" Joint Of The Day "

Yeah brother this is more like it.......

This is so smooth, sometimes I wonder why people can no longer come up with such lush production with all the "technology" we currently have access to......

If you are really on top of your Hip Hop knowledge, you can probably call out a couple names that sampled this incredibly fresh piece of music (Action Line).........But I'm not going to say any names over here......

Afro-Harping was arranged by producer Richard Evans and recorded by Dorothy Ashby for Cadet Records in 1968. The rest of this album is impressive as well, go out and cop it.....

"Action Line"

" D.J. Modesty On The Decks "

" Ed Lover : C'Mon Son 18 "

ESPN all of the sudden has a "C'Mon Man" segment ..........It's obvious that someone over there is a Ed Lover fan, because they pretty much stoled his concept....

Anyway, Ed keeps the laughs flowing by throwing Will Smith, T.I., Eddie Long, Bruno Mars, and a couple other suspects completely under the bus...HAHA..

" Milkcrate Jewels 24 "

It has been awhile since I have blessed ya'll with some "Milkcrate Jewels" steam.......If you are unfamiliar with this segment, this is where I dig into my crates and pull out a couple rockets that deserve more attention....

So buckle up and prepare for heavy turbulence......

This first joint " Pop The Clutch "-featuring Rescue & Royal Flush, was produced by "D.J. Mass" from the Netherlands........

I took a risk on buying this record in 2002....Royal Flush always rides beats decent enough, but I was unsure about what kind of beat "Mass" would bring to the table.........Nice dramatic keys, crunchy drums, and even a couple scratches....WIN...

Are you ready for number 2 folks ?..............

"First Day Of Spring"- Mobb Deep featuring Tragedy......

When I caught this little unreleased E.P. from Mobb Deep (Pre-Hell), I knew I had a gem on my hands.........This is back when Havok still did the majority of their beats.....

" Hip Hop Battlefield Rants "

Before you even read this post, keep in mind that these are just MY opinions and I don't expect anyone else out there to think like I do.....

Also keep in mind that I am not one of those shaky Hip Hop dudes.....I have my own convictions that are based on being a dedicated Hip Hop student for the majority of my years on this planet......These convictions are concrete, and they cannot be swayed by anything, or anyone.

So walk with me as I unveil a few things on my radar.....

1.." A Sucker Is Born Every Minute ".......................

Big Boi/Boy from the Outcast rolled into town recently, and had enough nerve to charge folks fifty dollars a ticket...

ARE YOU SERIOUS ?.......

To be honest, I never liked anything from Outkast and them, so it didn't ruin my night, but I feel sorry for the weirdo's who spent that kind of bread on a so-called Hip Hop show..

SUCKERS.......

The only person I would spend that kind of money on for a show would be James Brown, if he was still alive.........R.I.P.

Thank god K.R.S. One only charges 20 bucks a show.......

2.." That's Not Hip Hop, That's A Fashion Show ".......

I like to get dipped up like everyone else, but some of this shit is ridiculous........I see some of these dudes rocking all this so-called Hip Hop gear-and they don't know the first thing about Hip Hop or even care for that matter......

Here is a little message for all you fashionistas out there: Style without substance is what we call, PERPATRATING.......

3.." Turn Off The Motherfuckin Radio ".....

This one is an oldie but goodie.....Shit, I have been yelling that most radio shows are only suitable for robots since the late 90's.....

The other day I heard an " Usher " song that made me feel like I was in the motherfucking twilight zone......" Girl you got a booty like POW,POW,POW, and your boobies are like WOW,WOW,WOW ".....

Get the fuck out of here.......How bad can it get ?

4.." It's Hip To Be Square- 2010 Edition "......

I can remember a time when Hip Hop dudes were honest.......If they didn't like your shit, they would look you in the eye and tell you to your face, that your shit is WACK.......

Shiiiiit, if you were on stage yelling that nonsense, you might have even got beat up or hit with an egg or something (I have personally seen it happen)......

Nowadays if you speak out critically about something/someone, you automatically get thrown in the hater box......When cats used to try to diss me when I was a kid- I used that for motivation to step my skill levels up...

We need critical thinkers in Hip Hop to assure that it's practitioners stay on their toes, at all times.....

5.." Thirsty Bloggers, Part 2 "......

I'm a part-time blogger, full-time Hip Hopper...HAHA......I know that sounded corny....

Some of these dudes are part-time Hip Hoppers, but full-time bloggers..........They never go to jams, they never put out mixtapes-only compilations, and for some reason they only post up shit that everyone else has posted up.....

Just to keep a balance- I post up things from my personal record collection, my own mixes, and I have been known to get busy on the remix side of things...HAHA..

Remember when there was no internet, and you relied on word of mouth, jams, record stores, radio, The Source, Rap Pages, Word Up, and your local crews to provide you with your doses of Hip Hop ?

I must admit that I am thankful for all of the musical access I have at my fingertips, but I am slowly getting irritated by thirsty bloggers, payola rap, and cornball dick riders !!!!!!

YA FEEL ME.......

I'm going to stop all the ranting and raving for now (No one cares anyway).............Be on the lookout for more post in the morning....BLAM.

" For All The Wu- Headz, Part 11 "

WOW.....

Those Rocksmith dudes keep the flames burning with this limited edition, Ghostface Killa, Wu-Brand jump off .......

If you want to add this to your stash box of goodies, you can cop it right here troop....

" Revenge Of The Killer Demos, Part 8 "

Out of all the groups that producer "Ski" has worked with, "Camp Lo" sounded the best over his production....

Original Flavor, Currensy, Mos Def, and even a younger Jay Z couldn't match the chemistry of when Camp Lo & Ski get together in the lab.....

I'm not quite sure what the fuck those brothers are talking about half the time, and that's why I appreciate what they bring to the table....They have their own slang...They have their own wordplay....They basically have created their own lane that is virtually impossible to recreate or bite....

I don't think they get enough credit for being completely original......

Here are a couple demos that you might not have heard before.....ENJOY..

"Bubblin"-Demo..

"Kooley High"-Demo..

"Feeling It"-Demo.....Jay Z ended up using this beat on "Reasonable Doubt".........Like this version better HAHAHA....

" New Motion Man Shit- Adult Situations "

One thing that you can say about Motion Man", is that there is no father to his style.....NO ONE sounds remotely close to Motion. I guess you can call him the west coast answer to Sadat X, but that's not even a accurate description...

The "Masters Of Illusion" album with Kool Keith & Kutmaster Kurt, is still in constant rotation for me..Some of the most hilarious shit I have ever heard in my life....GO BACK AND TAKE A LISTEN.....

Anyway, on his newest offering," Adult Situations", Motion Man continues on his bizarre ride of non-stop illness.....

" Pouring You More Champagne "......Produced by Unagi & Jethroe.....DOPE....

" Budos Band On The Beat Breaks "

You gotta give props to the "Budos Band", for keeping their brand of funk raw and uncut...Instead of adopting a slick and overproduced type of sound, they keep it a little rough around the edges....

Over the last two years,"BB" has performed at over 150 live gigs, and you can hear that their chemistry and creative juices are flowing at a all-time high on their newest album ,"Budos Band 3"...

" Wax Weapons 30 "

When I first started this blog, I had a segment called "Wax Weapons"......I would go through my crates and pull out a bunch of instrumentals, and put together 30 minutes of non-stop blends, straight off the head..

Some of those freestyle mixes have hundreds of downloads at this point, so I felt the need to hit you off with some new, 2010 Wax Weapons shit, with a different type of steez.....Instead of 30 minutes of just instrumentals, I decided to rock vocal versions this time around....

Nothing too crazy, just a quick session of turntable abuse.......Strap on your combat helmets, grab your camo binoculars, and prepare for some HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD drama !!!!!!

Big shout out to my manz " Viben Onerz" for the cover art (Your still ill with it famz)..........BLAM..BLAM..

"After debuting on Organized Konfusion’s “Fudge Pudge” single, O.C. started traveling with O.K. when they did shows. It was on The Source Magazine College tour in 1993 when O.C. first met Buckwild, who was deejaying for fellow tour act Lord Finesse at the time. A creative union was formed and when O.C. was signed to MC Serch’s Serchlite production company, they started working on a demo… No Sleep Recordings is proud to present tracks off of that demo; six previously unreleased songs and a rare promo that was done for legendary NYC radio personalities, Stretch and Bobbito. Buckwild himself produced three of these tracks and there is also production from Mark Pearson and DJ Eclipse (from Non-Phixion fame). It is also from these early sessions that the Hip-Hop classic “Word Life” originated"…
