Preemo filled in for Eclipse on last weeks "R.I.O.C." radio show....You already know the motherfuckin drill: doubles, jokes, and a gang of brand new joints...
There has been a lot of disrespectful talk about Guru since his passing (Unfortunately)...."P" takes time to clarify a couple things on this recent interview with "Vibe.Com" ....
" This is the new volume from DJ Four EyeZ's series called SUB -INKFLASH. This mixtape has original shit including breaks, latin breaks, israeli breaks, his own breaks, crazy funk & soul beats and ofcourse a ton of funk "..
Sometimes he goes a little too far "out there" as far as selections go, but I still give this mix the two thumbs up !!!!

There are so many producers out there nowadays....It seems like every other day some cat is popping up with a beat tape, remix project, etc....My only complaint is that many of them have me reaching for the fast forward button way too often (Ya Feel Me)....
I'm not even that hard to please (Like some of my peoples)....Just give me some decent drums, halfway original chops, and a couple spices and I will give you a pat on the back....Simple right.......Nah, sometimes I will scour over beat tapes for hours and still not hear any fly shit....
Fluent from the Green Llamas put out this beat tape awhile back (Ear Candy 2).....If you want to hear some lo-fi illness I suggest you swoop this up trooper....
*Hip Hop Battlefield Top Picks.........Arson (Ghostface&Raekwon), Filthy (Children Of The Corn), Dolla Bills (Ghostface&Raekwon), King (Nas).......
And while your at it check out this-Fluent Interview With SP Forums

" If my gun jam, I'm going to have to knife ya / Crocodile Dundee style, hey mate I'll slice ya "......OUCH !!!!!!......
If you want to hear more death threats, aggressive bars, greasy street talk, and all that other grimey shit- make sure you peep the video below (State Of Emergency)......

"King Uprock", (Dynasty Rockers) stops by the Super B Beat show (Mane One & Son Of Jarel) to chop it up on their latest broadcast....
I also have to mention that they lace us with all types of wild breaks that will definitely catch your attention...Two thumbs up..
Big shout out to my dudes "Foots" and "Cold Chris" (Dynasty Rockers)...

With such a plain album cover, one might think this is just some average, run of the mill type shit....Yeah that's exactly what I thought until I decided to give it a listen .....DON'T SLEEP
" Raw Material Vol. 1 is the first in a series of jazz-funk fusion compilations, featuring some of Raw Stiles' favorite discoveries from the crates. Lifted fresh off everything from dusty 45's to unknown white-label private pressings, Raw Stiles brings raw, unadulterated sound for your sampling or listening pleasure ".
It's Friday already ?....So you know what that means, time to hit you in the face with some more hardcore to elevate your weekend madness AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....
Konny Kon (Manchester U.K.) is mostly known for his rhymes, but the kid gets down for his with the selections as well..."Tie Up Your Timbs" hits the target when it comes to that boulevard bully rap......If this doesn't help you get your mind right I don't know what will...
My only gripe is that some of the blends sound a little hurried...Other than that I give it the nod of approval..ALRIGHT !!!!!!

Straight from Brazil comes this mind blowing mix by D.J. Nuts (What a jive name-HAHAHAHA)...Anyway, he hits us off with a wide assortment of heavy selections that will force you to bob your head in unison....Here is what V-Tech headphones had to say regarding the project....
" The Timeless Concert Series wasn’t just a series of stunning performances. All the shows were framed by our favorite DJs. Madlib, JRocc, Houseshoes and Quantic all came with amazing sets. Cut Chemist even raised the bar with a one turntable romp.
On the eve of the Verocai show, DJ Nuts was supposed to perform with Madlib. He made the arduous journey from Brasil after completing a show with Marcelo D2. He endured a punishing series of flights that took 20 hours to complete, and in the end, a plane delay caused him to miss his own set at the start of the show.
In a pinch, J.Rocc stepped up to the plate and performed a stellar set at the Luckman in his place, and Nuts went on to DJ a mind-blowing two hour set at the after-party.
So much of Mochilla’s dealings in Brasil would not have been possible without Rodrigo Teixera (known to the world as DJ Nuts). The Verocai concert surely would never have happened without him. His role in helping with the pre and post co-ordination was enormous.
DJ Nuts is an astute and rigorous historian of Brasil’s vast and varied musical culture. His record collection is legendary; his skills as a DJ are world class. We commissioned him to make this mix to help people understand the extraordinary legacy of Verocai. Many by now know Verocai’s self-titled album, some even know the more popular compositions and arrangements, but none have dug as hard as Nuts. Years of collecting and a strong friendship with Verocai himself have made this historic mix possible. 78 minutes of all Verocai compositions and arrangements is a dream come true.
For such a mix to be made, only a true Brasilian music aficionado could have created this, and we are honored to be able to share it with you ".

Awww man, that mysterious letter is causing a lot of controversy in the Hip Hop world....If it comes out that Solar tampered with the man's final parting words, dude is completely toast....
Instead of focusing on any of that shit, I would rather pay attention to these words by Premier regarding his fallen comrade...
" IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME TO GET CONFIRMATION ON THE DEATH OF A MAN WHO I WILL CONTINUE TO CALL MY BROTHER, KEITH ELAM, BETTER KNOWN AS GURU OF THE LEGENDARY GANG STARR.
FROM 1988-2004, WE EXPERIENCED SO MUCH SUCCESS TOGETHER THAT WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR BUSINESSES INDEPENDENTLY AND GIVE EACH OTHER WHAT GURU CALLED “CREATIVE SPACE”, BEFORE PLANNING TO REUNITE FOR OUR 7TH LP WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT. TRAGICALLY, WE WILL NEVER REACH THAT DAY.
I’VE BEEN ASKED TO COMMENT ON A LETTER SPEAKING ILL OF ME WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY WRITTEN BY GURU IN HIS DYING DAYS. ALL I WILL SAY ABOUT IT IS THAT OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS BEAUTIFUL, WE BUILT A HIP HOP LEGACY TOGETHER, AND NO ONE CAN RE-WRITE HISTORY OR TAKE AWAY MY LOVE FOR HIM. ONE THING I WOULD NEVER DO IS PLAY AROUND WITH THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS LIFE.
I WILL CELEBRATE GURU’S LIFE… I WILL HONOR HIS MEMORY… I WILL GRIEVE WITH THE ELAM FAMILY OVER HIS UNTIMELY DEATH… I WILL REMEMBER THE GANG STARR FOUNDATION AND ALL OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF GANG STARR WHO CAME BEFORE ME – WE ALL KNOW EACH OTHER… MOSTLY, I WILL CHERISH EVERYTHING WE CREATED TOGETHER AS GANG STARR, FOREVER. I’M GONNA MISS HEARING HIS SIGNATURE MONOTONE VOICE WHEN HE WALKS IN THE ROOM, BUT THE SONGS WILL ALWAYS BRING IT BACK TO ME….HIS RHYME FLOWS WERE INSANE, AND I WILL NEVER REMOVE HIM FROM MY HEART AND SOUL…….REST IN PEACE TO THE MAN WHO FELT “SATISFACTION FROM THE STREET CROWD REACTION” … I LOVE YOU GOO …….DJ PREMIER
Here are a couple Guru joints that you might not have heard before (These are all from my wax stacks)....
1..."Dough In Advance" -Produced by Premier........This non-album cut features a very aggressive Guru taking shots at all perpertrators...Peep these bars !!!!
" Original baldhead, Crooklynite, rude boy instructor / I came back to lay down law, motherfucker "........
Or the equally disgruntled , " Stop talking shit and pass the L, I know mad clientele / mad niggas know me well, other rappers go on tour and stay in their hotel "....HAHAHAHAHA....
2...."Cry" -Produced by Ayatollah.......Something about this beat rubs me the wrong way (Surprising since I enjoy many of Ayatollah's productions), but Guru manages to bless this track regardless...
* Favorite bar-
" I gotta nice little treat for you / I'm going to make it crazy tough on the streets for you ".......Ouch !!!!
3...."Brooklyn" - Produced by Premier, Co-produced by Guru (Non album cut)........The way Preem cuts in lines from Smooth the Huster and Trigger the Gambler's " Broken Language " is quite ridiculous....Straight flames...
" Your artificial like saccharin, your crazy fake / it's more than skills that you be lacking in "..........and of course this one right here, " Size me up and you find none larger / I catch wreck on your dome like a deranged fucking barber "....
Even though I am still in shock from the loss of Guru, I must stand firm and continue to keep that motherfuckin Hip Hop pumping
(YA HEARD ME).....We gotta keep our spirits up and learn from the jewels he dropped....
The name of this blog is HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD- so I have to put my war face back on and try my hardest to maintain (I highly suggest you try and do the same)....
Scratch overlord "Q-Bert" needs no introduction...Peep this clip of him wrecking the decks at Tableturns 4th anniversary....He unveils a new scratch, cracks jokes, and even goes in with a one-handed scratch routine...Holy shit, your boy is not playing games on the cuts...
CHECK IN !!!!

Wow, I definitely wasn't expecting this to happen...
Guru passed away yesterday after a long bout with cancer......This is a monumental loss to the entire Hip Hop nation....I was hoping that one day Premier and Guru could bury the hatchet and continue to build on their legacy...Now that day will never happen, unfortunately...
I'm feeling really horrible about this situation, there will be no more post today...R.I.P. Keith Elam..
* Here is a parting letter Guru left for all of his fans, supporters, etc.......
" I, Guru, am writing this letter to my fans, friends and loved ones around the world. I have had a long battle with cancer and have succumbed to the disease. I have suffered with this illness for over a year. I have exhausted all medical options.
I have a non-profit organization called Each One Counts dedicated to carrying on my charitable work on behalf of abused and disadvantaged children from around the world and also to educate and research a cure for this terrible disease that took my life. I write this with tears in my eyes, not of sorrow but of joy for what a wonderful life I have enjoyed and how many great people I have had the pleasure of meeting.
My loyal best friend, partner and brother, Solar, has been at my side through it all and has been made my health proxy by myself on all matters relating to myself. He has been with me by my side on my many hospital stays, operations, doctors visits and stayed with me at my home and cared for me when I could not care for myself. Solar and his family is my family and I love them dearly and I expect my family, friends, and fans to respect that, regardless to anybody's feelings on the matter. It is my wish that counts. This being said I am survived by the love of my life, my sun KC, who I trust will be looked after by Solar and his family as their own. Any awards or tributes should be accepted, organized approved by Solar on behalf myself and my son until he is of age to except on his own.
I do not wish my ex-DJ to have anything to do with my name likeness, events tributes etc. connected in anyway to my situation including any use of my name or circumstance for any reason and I have instructed my lawyers to enforce this. I had nothing to do with him in life for over 7 years and want nothing to do with him in death. Solar has my life story and is well informed on my family situation, as well as the real reason for separating from my ex-DJ. As the sole founder of GangStarr, I am very proud of what GangStarr has meant to the music world and fans. I equally am proud of my Jazzmatazz series and as the father of Hip-Hop/Jazz. I am most proud of my leadership and pioneering efforts on Jazzmatazz 4 for reinvigorating the Hip-Hop/Jazz genre in a time when music quality has reached an all time low.
Solar and I have toured in places that I have never been before with GangStarr or Jazzmatatazz and we gained a reputation for being the best on the planet at Hip-Hop/Jazz, as well as the biggest and most influential Hip-Hop/Jazz record with Jazzmatazz 4 of the decade to now. The work I have done with Solar represents a legacy far beyond its time. And we as a team were not afraid to push the envelope. To me this is what true artists do! As men of honor we stood tall in the face of small mindedness, greed, and ignorance.
As we fought for music and integrity at the cost of not earning millions and for this I will always be happy and proud, and would like to thank the million fans who have seen us perform over the years from all over the world. The work I have done with Solar represents a legacy far beyond its time and is my most creative and experimental to date. I hope that our music will receive the attention it deserves as it is some of the best work I have done and represents some of the best years of my life ".

Peace to my dudes in London- Daily Diggers & Kool Skool........
Even though we are in the year 2010, some folks still can't help themselves from being nothing more than human trash.....The U.S. has a long history of bigotry and intolerance: maybe one day can destroy this system, and build a more civilized way of dealing with each other...
If you think race relations in America are all good- maybe this clip of the Nazi party roaming around in L.A. will wake you up...
Los Angeles is the gang capital of the world, how and the hell can these punks roam freely in the streets without being killed ?

I'm not going to even front, I stopped listening to De La after Prince Paul stopped producing for the trio...Their sound started to sound a little to R & B for my taste...
But a couple years ago I caught one of their live shows and was completely blown away....Pos's breath control was unbelievable, Plug 2's energy was off the meter, and Maseo added that extra seasoning to complete the chemistry of the performance...

I'm going to take you cats all the way to the foundation of this thing we call Hip Hop....Sedgwick & Cedar (Bronx N.Y.) hold down the fort when it comes to that fresh apparel...
When you head over there tell them that kid from HIP HOP BATTLEFIELD sent you trooper...
If you want to add a little boost to your Tuesday morning, I suggest that you swoop up this break mix by "Monk-One" (Breaking Rocks)....
Instead of hitting us with the "usual suspects" breaks- he keeps it interesting by adding a couple secret spices (HAHA)....And for all you beat nerds out there, there are plenty open drums for you to flip out over.....
Quit stalling JACK !!!!!
Never heard of this cat "Yahtz" before, but he does a decent job on this new mix......One thing that caught my attention from the gate is that he took the time to blend every song (Thank you)....
However, there are a couple questionable tracks that should have been left on the shelf....Other than that- it was a enjoyable listen...Find out for yourself duke..

Today I'm going to bless ya'll with a handful of joints that should keep your bell ringing....Big shout out to the people that check Hip Hop Battlefield on the motherfucking daily !!!!!!
1. N.Y. Confidential- "Backstabbed"................No this is not Mobb Deep, but it sounds like it could have been made during the "Infamous Era"......This is straight gutter, crime story, box cutter in the hand rap....I could listen to this type of stuff all day...
2. Kool Sphere- "Blue Collar M.C.'s" (Featuring A.Z.)...........I'm digging this...
3. Kool Sphere- "Serial Killa"..........Sounds like the kid "Sphere" has a couple heaters on his hands...
4..Roc Marciano- "Tearz".........It took awhile for me to get used to Roc's double time flow on this one, but after he said, " If ya'll keep playing with my money someone is going to get busted in their motherfuckin head ", I knew this was a keeper.....Plus he made the beat so I can't front.....
5..Asamov- "Hookslide"........Willie Evans Jr.'s crew put out some decent material over the years...It's unfortunate they didn't garner the attention that they deserved.......Peep.....
Sometimes when I sit down at my sampler things come together really quickly...Ideas pop up and I am able to execute at a fast rate...Other times I will hover over my M.P.C. for days working on one single sequence....
This remix that you are about to hear took me four days to fully tap out...I don't like to pat myself on the back, but this piece of weaponry is highly explosive !!!!!!!!
The U.N. gang get the remix treatment this time around kid- (D.O.A.)....Instead of rocking the same beat for the entire song, I decided to switch things up and bring different beats along to keep the momentum pumping (HAHA)....So for all you A.D.D. motherfuckers I got you covered, don't trip...
You know how I do over on the BATTLFIELD : Angry undertones, war drums, a serious as fuck disposition, machete chops, unsuspecting segues, dramatic movie samples, and all that other grimy shit....
No kits, no keyboards, no goofy synths, and definitely no nonsense.....

The thing that's so funny about the blog "Game", is that you never know who's reading your post.....Recently a friend of mine that I lost contact with, stumbled on my blog and decided to hit me up....
I'm not going to say what his real name is because he lives his life on the edge (You feel me)....So I'll just use one of his many aliases: "Sonny Wong" is one of the most humble cats that I know....His skill level is out of control, but you will never hear him flapping his lips about how he is GETTING IT IN !!!!!!!!!
My dude is all about action....No nonsense, just a show and prove type of steez......Check out these burners to see what the fuck I am talking about son.....
Salute to you "S.W." for keeping those flames burning....
I always wondered whatever happened to Bretty B & Seanie B ?.. They put out some decent material as 7A3, Muggs eventually started Cypress Hill, and the rest is history....
But whatever happened to the blood brothers who migrated from N.Y. to L.A. in search of Hip Hop stardom ?
FIND OUT HERE-
* Muggs also unveils unreleased heaters from the 7A3 vaults....Do not snooze !!!!
